Phil Richardson, 17th May 1973 to 30th November 2013, was a talented singer-songwriter and guitarist from the North East of England. Never without a joke to crack or a beaming grin to flash, his humour and generosity marked him out in the local music community as one to know and to have known him is to be his friend for life. Many people will speak for many years about his legacy of joy and laughter.

This raffle is the first step in beginning a new charitable trust raising funds then passed to the Sunday for Sammy trust. Sunday for Sammy support emerging creative talent among young people in the North East of England. Following the collection raised at Phil's funeral, sale of some of his things and a further musical tribute night, £2,200 was passed to Sunday for Sammy to be 'ringfenced' as the Phil Richardson Memorial Award. This fundraising we hope will continue in Phil's honour and make the award an annual commemoration of his life in the music community.
